Sisterly Love

I am starting a group session called Sisterly Love. It's a group to build a better understanding within African-American relationships by opening the lines of communication and ultimately decrease statistical data. This group is also being started to restore strength, love, and unity within the African-American community.

My main purpose for starting this group session is because my heart has been so heavy lately for young, Black men. There's so many of them incarcerated, and so many of our youth dying daily! Something has to be done! So, I figured if I could only get the women together to reclaim the family unity & structure. Although the man is considered the "Head of the household" and should be the one to reclaim that structure, I believe that we as women can truly have a significant influence on helping the men reclaim that structure and assume their rightful place as Husband, Father, and Leader.

As I was sitting at my desk at work today listening to a new song being performed by one of my favorite Old School Hip-Hop groups called A Tribe Called Quest ( also known as ATCQ), I had a flashback of the 90's; which was a great era for music. Be Prepared!

Good morning y'all. I was sitting here listening to a YouTuber's commentary about Trump supporters & David Duke & how Trump is firing up White Nationalists, and when the guy said: "All I'm saying is...Be Prepared, because things are going to get worse after this election"....I immediately thought about this old Lion King song, and how fitting it is to things going on right now. It may seem silly or simple of me to use a cartoon for something so serious, but I really believe a lot of reality is hidden subliminally in movies. Dark Girls Rise!

Dark Girls Rise! 06/26/2013 K.R. Brumfield Part 1:      On Sunday, June 23, 2013, the Documentary Dark Girls premiered on OWN ( Oprah Winfrey Network ). It’s a Documentary about the negative images, low self-esteem, and colorism amongst Black women and the African-American Community. The Documentary is directed by Bill Duke & D.
