'Tis The Season

Image
Well it's that time of year again...my favorite time of year! December/Christmas season! I love Christmas because it's such a joyous occasion. 'Tis the season to give, love, and cherish all that God has blessed us with-not just the material, but our family, friends, and loved ones. Today, 12/02/2009, we had a little snow in North Dallas. It was just as beautiful as any other snow day in Dallas, TX. Another reason that I love this season is because of the warm, cozy feeling this season gives me. I also enjoy seeing all the festive Christmas decorations, so one could imagine the feeling I got this morning when the snow started to fall! I started singing to myself in the car: " It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...". Since this is our last week at GE Healthcare, a few co-workers and I were taking advantage of this beautiful Winter day. We took a few pictures in the lobby in front of the company's Christmas trees as well as a few out in the snow. Can&

Crossroads

Well...so much has been happening that I haven't really had time to blog. I guess I'll start with what's happend most recently, which you'll in turn see why I titled this blog "Crossroads". On October 22, 2009, my employer held an “All-hands meeting” and announced that they would be closing its doors of our work location. That was the day we all were officially laid-off. Some were hurt and disappointed, while others were happy and excited. Then all kinds of questions and discussions began. Many wondered and asked what we’d do next, if we’d immediately seek other employment or just take a break. Because I had been praying and asking God for the opportunity to be self-employed by the end of 2009 and now that the job has ended, all sorts of ideas have been running through my head. Therefore, I am at a “crossroad”, waiting on guidance to know which direction to take. I want to start a business, but I know that will require capital, which I do not possess at

Persistent

OK. I am going to keep the blog today really short b/c I am tired. Being persistent or consistent really pays off! For the past few months my cousin has been working on his music. He has been going to the studio to record every week on Wednesday`s and has been writing lyrics seems like every other day, if not everyday. So, now he has a finished product. He just started going out hittin` the street to sell the CD`s on Saturday, Aug. 1st. On top of that, he has been writing lyrics for his next album....so while we are out networking to push his 1st Mix tape album, he is also meeting with producers to try and create tracks for his 2nd album. So, yes....I would have to say that being persistent does pay off! I will have to keep you all posted on how things are going. Until then..... Peace & Blessings! - K.R.

Yao Ming!

On yesterday evening (June 29th, 2009) when I logged on the Yahoo home page, I noticed one of the headlines saying something about devastating news regarding Yao`s foot injury. Apparently Yao Ming had a foot injury that isnt healing as everyone would expect. I just tought I`d take the time out to say that we all need to send some prayers up for Yao! He seems like a very nice & humble man. I know he`s a great ball player, and he himself would even be devastated if he wouldnt be able to play basketball ever again....but that`s what the doctors are saying...that it`s a possibility. There will be several more tests done before they ultimately say he can`t play anymore. So, I started thinking....with Yao being such a tall man 7`6``...what else could he be doing if his foor doesn`t heal to the point whereas he can play ball again? Well.....personally I`d love to see his foot heal so that he can. So, I am going to decree that his foot heals in the name of Jesus so that he can continu

Respect the Legendary King!

Well....another great man has passed on. I`m not just talking about any great man, I`m talking about the one & only Michael Jackson! The King of Pop music as we all know and have grown to love and truly adore. I don`t care what anyone has to say about his personal preferences or his personal lifestyle, the bottom line is this: He was still a great entertainer and humanitarian! Regardless if he is guilty of all the charges brought against him, the bottom line is: All have sinned and come short of HIS glory. Furthermore, he without sin, PLEASE...PLEASE...cast the first stone!!! None of us humans are perfect on this Earth. We all have to go before the ultimate judge, GOD. It doesn`t matter what man has to say about us, because man does not have a Heaven or Hell to place us in. I am only saying all of this because Michael Jackson was a target of the media before death, and I hope that he does not continue to be so after his death. At some point, every human being should be

"Politically Incorrect?!!"

Today I received an e-mail and thought I'd share with you all. If you are truly a believer, then you will love this song and fully understand the importance of not excluding God from everything. Please read message below before clicking on the link to hear the song. Here is the detailed e-mail I received: The song you are about to listen to is from a Las Vegas Diamond Rio concert. They received an immediate resounding standing ovation, and continue to do so every time they perform it! Sadly, major radio stations wouldn't play it because it was considered `politically incorrect`... Consequently, the song was never released to the public. So America, see what you think.. If this offering speaks to your heart and you feel you want to share it with your friends and loved ones, please do.

My 1st Passion

Should I go or just forget about it? "You may actually have fun", is what a few others had to say. Well, I decided to go...only after my friend convinced me. I went to my first passion party on Saturday, March 14th. It was actually interesting. For some reason I thought I'd be the only one there for the first time, but I wasn't. There was a young lady there who happened to be younger than me, and the others made it so much more fun by picking on her instead of me. They kept making remarks about her having to do certain sexual things with her husband when she gets married to keep him satisfied. It was hilarious! Just some of the looks on her face, especially when the host of the party would give the name of the toy and give a brief description of each one, would cause everyone else to break out into great laughter. Before going to the party, I told myself to keep an open mind and not to be judgemental; because there are many couples (married and unmarried) wh

Moved In

Well.....it's been a minute since I've written. That's because I had been in the process of moving to another place, a bigger place. I needed more space. I was outgrowing my old apartment. My closet was too small...not enough space for my clothes and shoes. My bedroom was too small..... kept bumping into the door of my t.v. armoir. Now my new apartment is much bigger! I love it! I have enough room in my bedroom to actually do some exercising...enough room in my closet that someone can actually sleep in there...enough room on my patio to give a barbecue cookout or enough room in the livingroom and dining area to have holiday get togethers at my place. Until next time.... Peace & Blessings! - K.R.

It's You

Written on 01/01/09 @ 5:30 a.m. I can feel Taste Touch Smell And hear I know that You are near By the calmness within me From the assurance deep within To the pigment of my skin I know that it’s You That opens my eyes to see And gave me lungs to breathe A tongue to taste indeed It’s You Who keeps on blessing me It’s You Who breathed into nostrils And created Eve and descendants And for that, we’re forever grateful Keep loving the way You do Because we know that without You Nothing in life is possible I love You We love You And it’s all YOU!

Preoccupied Martha Vs. Opportunistic Mary

Written on 12/28/08 @ 9:43 a.m. On Sunday morning I was sitting at home reading a few passages from a book called “Prayers and Promises for Women”, and there was a scripture reference in the book of Psalms. As I began to turn to the scripture within my Everyday Life Amplified Version Bible with commentaries by Joyce Meyer, I stopped to read one of Joyce’s commentaries entitled, “Seek the ‘One Thing’”. Her commentary was basically tying in David’s prayer of asking God for “One Thing” (to be able to dwell in God’s presence all the days of his life) and the story of Martha and Mary. Martha was the preoccupied, busy one; while Mary was the opportunistic one. She didn’t want to miss the opportunity of dwelling in the presence of the Lord. (Luke 10: 38-42) Although I had read and heard the story of Mary and Martha several times before, however, on this particular morning the story really resonated with me because I always find myself being a busy body. Therefore,
