Love Yourself Enough

So today I found out that Tameka "Tiny" Harris has filed for divorce from her husband, Clifford "T.I." Harris . Was I surprised? Not so much. However, with all the rumors of her cheating with Floyd Mayweather and orgy parties with T.I., I was holding out hope that those would be just that...rumors; and that they could work through whatever differences they may have had. Well, unfortunately, my hopes didn't turn out so well. Click HERE to read the article on the divorce filing. I, as well as many others, can only speculate what may or may not have gone wrong within their marriage, simply because we were not flies on their walls to find out all the details. However, I will say that I have always been and always will be a fan of Black Love & Unity; so I never like to see any of my people splitting up or getting a divorce. As an analytical person on the outside looking in, for the past few years it has appeared to me as if Tiny has been dealing with some d

Let Me Rub You

Lately I've been listening to a lot of R&B songs that I've loved the most; and one of those Artists would be Joe Thomas. For some reason, his music really inspires me to think about and write more romantic, sensuous love stories. With that being said, I started playing around with an idea for a book about women who have "Untapped" romance & sensuality, which lead me to Title the book: "Untapped". I'm still not sure if it will be a full novel, a collection of short stories, or just one short story. I just don't know yet. In the meantime, here's a snippet of something I will include in that book, which is a poem inspired by listening to R&B singer Joe Thomas' music. Here's the link to his website, so you can check out his melodic New Single titled: " So I Can Have You Back"... http://www.officialjoethomas.com/ Here's my poem... Let Me Rub You If you only knew What these hands could do...

Soul Ties

As I was sitting at my desk at work today listening to a new song being performed by one of my favorite Old School Hip-Hop groups called A Tribe Called Quest ( also known as ATCQ), I had a flashback of the 90's; which was a great era for music. Then I got to thinking about other groups in the 90's, such as Goodie Mob , Outkast , The Fugees ,& Jodeci , which then sent me deeper into a Flashback mode. I started asking myself the following questions: Since it appears as though a lot of great music was released in 1998, where were you that year? What were you doing? (One of my favorite Goodie Mob songs - Released in 1998) Oh boy...what did I ask those questions for? Immediately, I had opened "Pandora's Box", if you will; because all types of memories started flowing through my head, but the affect wasn't as strong as it used to be. One memory or season in particular had a huge impact on my life, which was my time as a college student at U.S.L. (Univers

Be Prepared!

Good morning y'all. I was sitting here listening to a YouTuber's commentary about Trump supporters & David Duke & how Trump is firing up White Nationalists, and when the guy said: "All I'm saying is...Be Prepared, because things are going to get worse after this election"....I immediately thought about this old Lion King song, and how fitting it is to things going on right now. It may seem silly or simple of me to use a cartoon for something so serious, but I really believe a lot of reality is hidden subliminally in movies. Click HERE for the Lion King song titled "Be Prepared", and pay attention to how Skar is planning to overtake the whole kingdom & how his followers are marching the same way Hitler's troops were marching in. This stuff is not a coincidence! They are sending subliminal messages! Looking at how Donald Trump wants to "Make America Great Again" & David Duke is a known Grand Wizard of the Klan & suppor

Your Lives Are Indeed Valuable!

So as I was logging into my Yahoo account this evening, I just so happened to see a Black woman's face with her hair kind of messed up. My first thought was, "Oh Lawd, please tell me this isn't a mug shot." Then I read the title of the article: "' I don't love them': She thought her boyfriend was cheating, so she killed their child, police say" . After reading that, my next immediate thought was, "This has to be a young chic". I clicked on the link to get more details about the story, and sure enough, she's only 21.      Stories like this is why I always say that some people DO NOT need to be having kids! She's practically just a baby herself, and in my opinion; babies don't need to be having babies! Here's the link to the story: Young Woman Kills her Toddler      Let me dive into the mindset of a 21 year-old who typically doesn't have a care in the world... This is clearly a woman with deep rooted Sel

The M.O.E. Mentality of Some New Orleanians

With all this talk/controversy about Lil Wayne and how he's "cooning" or disrespecting his own people, I thought I'd add my two cents to the conversation to possibly she'd some light on his mentality as well as the mentality of some of my other people back home in New Orleans. So, first and foremost, I am NOT a big fan of Lil Wayne and this post is not an attempt for me to make excuses for him, but rather for me to shed some light on the REALITY for many New Orleanians who either are still in the hood or come from the hood. The first thing I want to discuss is the statement he made saying, "I'm a very successful man". Think about that for a second.... How is he defining success? Since he mentioned that he was rich, he is basing his success on his money and/or material possessions, which really don't hold as much value as other intangible things such as morals, values, or family. I also want you to think about or take into perspectiv

"He's Getting Help!"

The stance that Colin Kaepernick  took in regards to the protest of the National Anthem has spread like wildfire, and I must say...I Love it!      Stand (sit) for something or you'll fall for anything!  Always take a stand for what is right & what you believe in!      Right now, I can't help but think of this line: "He's getting help boys!" It's a line from the movie Enemy of the State . It's in the scene where Gene Hackman "helps" Will Smith by removing all or most of the tracking devices from his clothing & shoes.      Why does this scene remind me of what Colin and some other NFL players are doing, you ask? Here's why...      Just as those tracking devices tried to have a hold on Will or tried to control his whereabouts, there is a huge control in the NFL & NBA. They really haven't tapped into or unlocked their full power yet, but for them to do something like this...it's a start, and many racist wh

Effects of Repetitive Racial Injustice in America Amongst Black People

With everything going on in our country lately, I truly believe that many of my Sisters and Brothers are dealing with PTSD , Paranoia , or have become casualties of war . I'm going to break down what I mean by focusing on one at a time, providing examples. I'll first start by explaining what all 3 of these ailments are, and NO I do not believe they are mental illnesses. I believe they are consequences or effects of some sort of traumatic incident or event.      According to the American Psychological Association , PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is an anxiety problem that develops in some people after extremely traumatic events, such as combat, crime, an accident, or natural disaster. Visit the website for the behavior or symptoms of people with PTSD, and you will see how some of it matches the behavior or fear that many Black people have developed from being stopped by the police.      Based on the American Psychological Association's definition
