Working Out

I have been working out for almost 5 weeks now. I have definitely noticed a difference in my body. I have more energy, and my back and sides have smoothed out. My main issue is my abs! It is so hard to get this "muffin top" to go down. My lower abdomen is ok. It's just the top part I'm having trouble with. So, this week and going forward, I will be kicking it up a notch.

I have been doing Cardio exercises on Monday, Wednesday, & Fridays (20 minutes on treadmill, 20 minutes on bicycle, and 20 minutes on elliptical). Then I've been doing strength training on Tuesdays & Thursdays (free weights, squats, crunches). However, this week I have kicked it up a notch. I do: 30 minutes on treadmill, 30 minutes on bicycle, & 30 minutes on elliptical. I also do more crunches sitting down and standing up. On top of that, I've started working out to my Kickboxing Cardio Blast DVD at home when I leave the gym.

I am determined! I have started a chart to keep track of my measurements. My goal is to get down to a size 8. When I started working out I was wearing a size 12, but now I can fit back into my size 10. I DO NOT want to get any smaller than a size 6, because I don't think my bone structure is made to be in anything less than that.

I will be traveling to Jamaica in July, so that's an incentive/motivation to me working out. I'm trying to get my "beach body" ready. lol.... Anyway, NO that is not the only reason I'm working out. I just want to maintain my great health. I've always been a healthy person. So by working out more, I can actually maintain it and prevent serious health conditions such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, which is prevalent amongst African-Americans. So yes, I plan to continue my workout regimen when I return from Jamaica. I will post a few pictures when I return.
