2nd Annual Black Girls Rock

So tonight was the 2nd Annual Black Girls Rock Award Ceremony on BET. It was amazing! They honored Taraji P. Henson, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Tatyana Ali, Angela Davis, and many more.

Regina King and Tracy Ellis Ross did a wonderful job of hosting the show.
On another note...Man Regina look like she be in the gym like 7 days a week! All those muscles were just bulging out, OMG!!! However, her and Tracy definitely rocked it!

Here are some of the performers:
Erykah Badu, Melanie Fiona (loved her shoes!!), Estelle, Jill Scott (loved the outfit!!), Mary Mary (that blue dress was too much for a Gospel singer, or am I the only one who thought it was a bit over the top or too revealing?), and Mrs. Isaacs a.k.a. the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul and R&B a.k.a. Mary J. Blige closed out the ceremony with two songs: "My Life" and "Just Fine".

I gotta say that Mary J's outfit was off the chain!!! That blue blouse with the puffy sleeves, black fitting pants to show off her curves, and that fedora had was a perfect match for her sophistication and class, which is very fitting for the Queen.

To say that "My Life" was a song on her "My Life" album back in the 90's, it was a perfect song to perform at the ceremony, and the lyrical content of the song is very relevant today. Like many other Mary J. Blige songs, they truly speak to so many Black women and their situations or struggles in life. She has been such a huge influence on Black women all over the world. So, prophetically speaking, her autobiography will definitely be a Best Seller! I can't wait until it comes to fruition! It will be a blessing to so many young girls! It will touch so many lives. Her autobiography should be titled the same as the song: "My Life". It will be a story of triumph, perseverance, and victory, as she has definitely been triumphant in her struggles, persevered in her career, and victorious in her life! She is definitely a Black Girl who Rocks!

Overall, BGR is definitely off to a great start! I can see this growing each and every year, as more and more Black women come into their own, realizing their full potential to Rock!

Rock on BG's!

Peace & Blessings!
