NBA Lockout?!! Say it Ain't So...

Although I would love to "Say it ain't so", but unfortunately it is so. First the NFL, now the NBA. What is going on? In the words of Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?" I say that in the sense that the players and the leagues need to get along. They need to come to an agreement.

I'm really not a huge fan of the NFL, because I can't tolerate such brutal and dangerous moves on the field. I know it's a contact sport, but I still can't bare to watch someone's child, husband, or father endure such pain, injuries, and God forbid paralysis! I cringe just looking at two players colliding.

Now Basketball, I can watch that anytime. The jumpshots, 3-pointers, slams, rebounds, turnovers, etc... I'm usually all in the game yelling and screaming: "Stay on him!" or I'll throw my hands up when a player from one of my favorite teams fails to pass the ball to another teammate whose clearly wide open to make the shot!

Just in case some of you have not been watching or hearing the news, the NFL started a lockout first; because the owners refuse to budge on sharing the wealth of the sport. The NFL owners make more money than the players; and I believe it was last year or the year before that, the owners raked in outstanding revenues, but failed to share the wealth or perks with the players. I think this is just greed on their part. With all the money the NFL generates, why can't they give the players an increase? Also, I would say especially since football is such a dangerous sport, the players deserve to be highly paid. Afterall, they put their lives in jeopardy each and every time they get out there on the field.

Now as for the NBA...
Even though I love this sport, I think the players are the ones who have to compromise, because they're the ones making the majority of the money. If the players want to continue to play, and if we fans want to see them continuously play, then some sacrifices and compromises will have to be made.

What in the world would we Americans do with these 2 sports? Let me rephrase that. What on Earth would the world do without these 2 sports?!

I sure hope both leagues can come to an agreement soon, because I can't imagine a world without football or basketball.

I was sitting here listening to a YouTuber's commentary about Trump supporters & David Duke & how Trump is firing up White Nationalists, and when the guy said: "All I'm saying is...Be Prepared, because things are going to get worse after this election"....I immediately thought about this old Lion King song, and how fitting it is to things going on right now. Dark Girls Rise! 06/26/2013 K.R. Brumfield Part 1:      On Sunday, June 23, 2013, the Documentary Dark Girls premiered on OWN ( Oprah Winfrey Network ). It’s a Documentary about the negative images, low self-esteem, and colorism amongst Black women and the African-American Community. The Documentary is directed by Bill Duke & D.
