So tonight was the 2nd Annual Black Girls Rock Award Ceremony on BET. It was amazing! They honored Taraji P. Henson, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Tatyana Ali, Angela Davis, and many more. Regina King and Tracy Ellis Ross did a wonderful job of hosting the show. On another note...Man Regina look like she be in the gym like 7 days a week! All those muscles were just bulging out, OMG!!! However, her and Tracy definitely rocked it! Here are some of the performers: Erykah Badu, Melanie Fiona (loved her shoes!!), Estelle, Jill Scott (loved the outfit!!), Mary Mary (that blue dress was too much for a Gospel singer, or am I the only one who thought it was a bit over the top or too revealing?), and Mrs. Isaacs a.k.a. the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul and R&B a.k.a. Mary J. Blige closed out the ceremony with two songs: "My Life" and "Just Fine". I gotta say that Mary J's outfit was off the chain!!! The other night I was watching the story of Whodini (Old-School Rap Group) on TvOne's show called Unsung , and I had a flashback. It made me think of one of my older cousins, and how he would sing one of Whodini's song to me: "You got a Big Mouth...a Big Mouth...Big Mouth...Big Mouth...You're mouth almighty, tongue everlasting..." That's because as a child, I talked, and talked, and talked...until I got a little older and got tired of people calling me "Polly" or "Pollyana" or told over and over that I talked too much. So, somewhere or at some point over the years, I just shut down. I stopped talking as much. Then it seemed as though I got extremely quiet and just started writing more.
